Arthur is one half of Swing Squad’s trumpet duo, known for his distinctive raspy tone and confident playing style. Whether cutting through ensemble lines or stepping forward for a solo, he brings energy and character to every performance. He shares the section with his twin brother, the band’s other trumpet player, and their friendly rivalry keeps them on their toes.

Arthur takes pride in his solos, always owning the spotlight when it’s his moment. Recently, he’s set his sights on a flugelhorn to explore a warmer sound, while getting to grips with the trombone to expand his musical range.

Jack is one of our team of drummers who brings a powerful presence to every stage. Larger than life and unapologetically extroverted, he adds a cheeky edge that can be felt as much as heard. Known for his thunderous playing style and dynamic approach, Jack thrives in live settings and enjoys elevating the band’s sound. 

He always plays with the intensity of a headline set, giving every show full throttle. Loud, expressive and animated behind the kit, Jack provides a strong rhythmic line without overshadowing the rest of the band and never fails to fill every room with humour.

Reuben is the quietest member of the band - at least until you get to know him when he suddenly becomes one of the noisiest! He’s a steady player, rarely rushing, holding everything together without making a fuss about it. His tone is rich and warm, the kind that fills space in a way you only really notice when it’s gone, adding depth and body to the whole band’s sound.

He’s usually in time with the rest of the band and, when he’s not, he confidently calls it harmonising!

Reuben is one half of a twin set - his brother Arthur also plays trumpet - so musical mischief clearly runs in the family. 

James is the passionate drummer of Swing Squad, bringing natural flair and energy to every performance. As part of the band’s rhythmic backbone, he never misses a beat, keeping everything tight and driving the music forward with confidence.

Off the kit, he’s full of enthusiasm, charisma, and a cheeky sense of humour that lifts rehearsals. Always excitable, James loves adding unexpected flourishes and surprise moments that keep both the band and audience on their toes, making every performance feel fresh and lively.

He's also a massive fan of the talk box!

Dougie is one of the youngest members of the band and a relative newcomer, bringing plenty of enthusiasm as he gets started with us. Primarily a drummer and percussionist, he’s already showing interest in expanding his skills by picking up other instruments over time.

Energetic and eager, Dougie is always ready to get stuck in and make his mark.
